Both Aaron and Nanore were not only amazing to work with, but captured the day and our personalities perfectly. It was literally the best decision we made.

Aaron and Nanore delivered in every way—from the beautifully composed images… to the fun, energetic, and creative attitude they brought to the entire process. Their unique style resulted in a wide variety of pictures from the standard posed sets, to candids… to more artistic images taking full advantage of every setting…

They are exceptionally talented photographers. We wanted to avoid fake-looking or cheesy photos and instead wanted natural, candid, beautiful photos. Aaron and Nanore excel at these types of shots.

In Their Words

Aaron

Lead. Partner Photographer.
Creative Director.

With over 14 years photographing weddings—and 16 in commercial photography and photojournalism—I bring both instinct and intention to every celebration I cover. I’ve photographed everything from presidential visits to backstage portraits. However, nothing compares to the story of a wedding day.

My wedding photography career began when I was invited to help cover a Martha Stewart wedding for two actors, later featured in Inside Weddings magazine. That experience sparked my love for documenting weddings and set the foundation for the work we do today.

What I love most about wedding coverage is the balance: moments that unfold on their own, and others we help shape. My style is rooted in documentary storytelling, layered with creative portraiture that’s personal and natural. I offer just enough guidance to help you feel at ease, then step back to let the scene unfold organically.

My Favorite Things: Photography, reefkeeping, canoeing, campfires, stargazing, apple pie, and  a strong cup of coffee.

Work Published in: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Writer’s Digest, The Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix, and The Huffington Post (among others).

Special Note: I became an approved photographer by the U.S. Secret Service, covering (and delivering photographs to) visiting presidents, governments, and world leaders.

Past Photographic Resume
On staff or freelance: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Picower Institute & Tonegowa Institute,) Tufts, Harvard, Huffington Post, Pfizer, Aveda, Nivia, Lexus, Melrose P.D., Suffolk County Sheriffs Department, Conventures, Pfizer, Knome Bio-pharmaceuticals, The Boston Phoenix.

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH AARON AND NANORE

Nanore

Partner Photographer.
Chief Composer.
Quality Assurance.

I began photographing weddings in 2014, second-shooting for Aaron while working full-time as a newspaper journalist (2009–2016). My background in journalism, literature, and conflict resolution made wedding photography a natural extension of my love for storytelling and documentation.

I’m calm and steady on a wedding day, yet always on the ball—moving quietly and attentively to capture moments as they unfold. I alternate between candid, photojournalistic coverage and creative, artful compositions. My goal is to document everything both truthfully and beautifully.

Although my priority is photography, I’m the kind of person who jumps at helping out when needed. Over the years I’ve pinned veils, superglued shoes, taught calming breathing techniques to grooms, secured earrings with carrots (it’s all I had at hand), mended dresses with band-aids, and handed out safety pins like Halloween candy.

My Favorite Things: Photography, books, arts & crafts, my pet chickens, snowy-day puzzles, museums, Egyptian wooden dolls, beekeeping, and (always) coffee.

Photographic Experience: Wedding photography for 11 years; photojournalism for 7; and the occasional product + social media photography for select artists and businesses.

Languages: I’m fluent in Armenian and English and have elementary Arabic and French.

What I Love to Capture:
+ Dreamy portraits
+ Accidental Renaissance scenes
+ Bridal party portraits with attitude
+ Images with a hint of otherworldliness
+ Funny candids
+ All the little details
+ Dessert tables in all their glory
+ Dancefloors on fire

Our Story

Aaron founded Spagnolo Photography in 2011—the same year we eloped at Dewey Square while covering a protest for Boston papers. That sense of adventure still drives us today.

From our first wedding together in 2014 to every celebration since, we’ve built a partnership that’s equal parts collaboration and healthy competition. We push each other to see new angles, try new ideas, and ensure that no moment slips past us—so your wedding is documented with care, artistry, and confidence.

Unlike a lead photographer + second shooter setup, we co-lead every wedding. Years of experience shooting together has honed an intuitive, seamless workflow—one glance and we know what the other is thinking. We constantly push each other creatively, making sure every angle, every fleeting moment, and every story is captured with precision and artistry.

Aaron is a true artist: weird, lovable, and incredibly talented. He sees things that others can’t and captures mood and lighting in a way that completely breaks the mold of traditional wedding photography.

In Love & Making Plans?

What's Our Idea of a Fun Date?

When we’re not photographing weddings, we’re usually up to something a little offbeat—bee suits, chickens, beach walks, hikes, and museum wanderings. These adventures keep us inspired (and a little quirky), which is exactly how we like it. Most of these shots are straight from our iPhones—just our real life, unfiltered.
