When the Hora Meets Hip-Hop: Hannah & Sean’s Brookline Bash

This unforgettable wedding featured the Hora and a hip hop performance by the bride. Scroll to the bottom for the full story behind the day.

About the Day

Hannah and Sean’s fall wedding in Brookline overflowed with joy, music, and meaningful Jewish traditions. Although the celebration happened at the historic Alden Castle, which has since closed, the energy and love of that day still resonate.

We had the honor of documenting their wedding over eight hours—our usual two-shooter coverage, which let us capture candid moments from multiple angles. The celebration unfolded in early October, beginning at 3 PM, giving us time for getting-ready shots ahead of the planned events.

Hannah got ready in the Lilly Room, a charming upstairs space with floral wallpaper and a tall mirror that created the perfect backdrop for dreamy getting-ready shots. Between mirror touch-ups and bursts of laughter with her closest people, the room buzzed with anticipation and goofiness.

Before the ceremony, we walked with Hannah and Sean to nearby Riverway Park for portraits. Just a short stroll from the venue, the park offered a peaceful pocket of greenery right in the heart of Brookline. The leaves were still green, and the soft afternoon light gave us a perfect setting for both couple and family photos. It was a calm, joyful interlude before the festivities kicked off—a chance for them to breathe, laugh, and take it all in.

Ceremony & Reception

Though Hannah and Sean had already married privately, they chose to reaffirm their commitment during the ceremony in front of family and friends. The moment felt heartfelt and intimate—a quiet pause before the celebration truly took off.

And what a celebration it turned out to be.

During the reception, the bride, her father, and a close family friend brought the house down with an unforgettable cover of “Rapper’s Delight” by the Sugarhill Gang. The performance felt unexpected, completely delightful, and a hit with the guests.

The night kept the energy high with Jewish wedding traditions, including the Hora—a joyful, high-energy circle dance. Guests lifted Hannah and Sean in chairs to the beat of “Hava Nagila,” their smiles beaming as the dance floor pulsed with life. The celebration never slowed, with guests flooding the floor from the first song to the last.

From emotional vows to full-on party mode, this Brookline wedding beautifully blended tradition, personal flair, and unfiltered happiness. We felt lucky to witness—and capture—it all.

We hope you enjoyed these highlights from Hannah and Sean’s fun wedding in Brookline.
