A Warm Late-Summer Misselwood Estate Wedding

If you’re dreaming of a coastal wedding on Boston’s North Shore, Misselwood Estate at Endicott College in Beverly, MA is hard to beat. With sweeping ocean views, timeless architecture, and a mix of refined elegance and natural beauty, it’s one of our favorite venues to photograph. Jen and Ricardo’s early September wedding was a perfect example of what makes a Misselwood Estate wedding so unforgettable.

Jen and Ricardo tied the knot on one of those golden September days—warm well into the night, with just a hint of fall in the air. Their celebration at Misselwood Events was full of laughter, romance, and thoughtful details that made it uniquely theirs.

We began the day with getting ready moments, then moved into an emotional first look on the terrace. The couple shared a quiet moment together before we explored the estate grounds for portraits. Some of those were taken on the elegant furniture inside the mansion, others outside with the ocean and lush greenery as a backdrop.

Ceremony & Cocktail Hour on the North Shore

Their ceremony took place overlooking the Atlantic, with gentle ocean breezes and the soft sound of waves creating a serene backdrop for their vows.

Afterward, guests gathered in the courtyard for cocktail hour. Stone planters, a bubbling fountain, and café-style string lights gave the space a romantic, European garden feel. Two tiny rubber ducks in wedding attire perched at the edge of the fountain, delighting guests and photographers alike. Nearby, a Margarita station offered the perfect refreshment for that warm September afternoon.

Sunset Portraits on the Rocks

As the sun began to set, we snuck away with Jen and Ricardo for a few quiet portraits on the rocks above the water. The view from that spot is one of the most iconic at Misselwood—waves crashing below, golden light above. These are often our favorite moments: when the couple gets a chance to breathe and soak it all in.

Reception Under the Tent

From there, the evening continued in Misselwood’s elegant reception tent. It featured chandeliers, wall sconces, and white chiffon draping from the ceiling. Everything—from the soft, romantic florals to the perfectly set tables—was thoughtfully styled. The tent glowed with ambient lighting, adding an extra touch of magic.

At 9:30 PM, the energy kicked up a notch with La Hora Loca—an hour of wild fun featuring glow sticks, colorful props, and nonstop dancing that brought everyone to the floor.

Meanwhile, a Bourbon station was set up on the Cocktail Patio, offering a cozy, refined option for guests who wanted a quiet sip away from the dance floor.
