Jessika & Michael’s Oceanview of Nahant wedding in August was a fun, seaside celebration on the North Shore of Massachusetts. With a waterfront ceremony, four generations of family, a surprise samba performance, and multiple movie-worthy dips, their day was vibrant, heartfelt, and full of personality.

Getting Ready in Medford, MA

We began coverage at the AC Hotel Boston North, where both Jessika and Michael got ready surrounded by loved ones. Michael and his groomsmen—also his brothers—soon headed outside with Nanore for portraits at Station Landing Park, just a short walk from the hotel. While there, a friend spotted them from a boat docked nearby. The guys hopped aboard for a quick, docked portrait session—keeping the moment grounded, casual, and fun.

Meanwhile, Aaron stayed with Jessika as she got ready with her wedding party and family—including her daughter, mom, and grandmother. The suite buzzed with laughter, gift exchanges, and heartfelt moments. One especially sweet highlight was Jessika’s first look with her daughter, followed by a quiet, emotional reveal with her father.

Having two photographers meant we could fully document both sides of the morning as it unfolded—from spontaneous dockside portraits to intimate family moments inside the hotel.

First Look by the Mystic River

Jessika and Michael shared their first look near the water, taking a few quiet minutes together. They read private vows, and simply took in the moment. We stayed back to let it be theirs—capturing soft, candid images.

On the walk back, we snapped more portraits of J+M in the park, posing by a lamp post and walking through a large flock of resting geese. The setting was simple but perfect: just the two of them and the stillness of a beautiful summer day.

A North Shore Wedding Ceremony with Live Painter

From there, we all made our way to Oceanview of Nahant, a favorite coastal wedding venue on the North Shore, with sweeping ocean views and a ceremony space right on the shore.

Before the ceremony, we explored the nearby park with Jessika, Michael, and the bridal party. The gazebo, beachside vegetation, and rocky shoreline gave us a variety of backdrops—each one drenched in perfect summer light.

The ceremony itself was heartfelt and scenic. Jessika and Michael exchanged vows with the ocean rolling in behind them. A live painter began capturing the scene in real time, brushing the first strokes of a canvas he would layer throughout the evening.

An Oceanview of Nahant Wedding Reception with Surprise Samba Performance

Cocktail hour flowed across the veranda and indoor bar, with live music and ocean breezes keeping the energy high.

Meanwhile, Oceanview of Nahant’s team put the finishing touches on the table settings and decorations in the reception hall. Navy napkins and gold details were the perfect choice for the wedding colors and the coastal theme.

As guests began finding their way to the reception hall, we snuck away with Jessika and Michael for a quick round of portraits on Oceanview’s swings and oversized Adirondack chair.

As the reception kicked off, the couple made a grand entrance and went straight into their first dance. Later, after cake cutting, we went out for a few golden-hour portraits, including one movie-worthy dip shot.

Back at the party, the energy ramped up again—this time with a surprise.

The doors opened. In came Samba Viva: Brazilian samba dancers in full costume, led by drummers. The room erupted. The performance was a stunning nod to Jessika’s Brazilian heritage—and one of the most high-energy dance floor moments we’ve ever photographed.
