It was the perfect setting for Allison and Thomas’s wedding. With fewer than 50 guests, their daytime micro wedding paired thoughtful details with incredible food, creating a relaxed, elevated celebration in the heart of the city.

Held on an overcast September day, the diffused light only enhanced Terra’s rooftop space, filtering through the skylights and lush greenery. Getting Ready at The Eliot Hotel

Allison and Thomas got ready separately at The Eliot Hotel, a boutique hotel in Boston’s Back Bay just a ten-minute walk from Eataly. The elegant suites—designed to evoke a classic Parisian hotel—were filled with soft window light that created moody, dramatic portraits of Allison as she prepared for the day.

Before heading to Terra, Thomas read a heartfelt letter from Allison in his suite. The couple chose not to see each other before the ceremony, but they did exchange a few words while standing on opposite sides of a wall.

A Rooftop Ceremony at Terra at Eataly Boston

The ceremony took place on Terra’s rooftop, surrounded by vibrant plants, filtered September light, and tall Boston buildings. Allison and Thomas exchanged their vows in the presence of their closest people. The city buzzed below, while the rooftop felt like a quiet escape in the heart of Back Bay.

Portraits Around Back Bay & the Prudential

After the ceremony, we stepped out into the neighborhood for portraits, taking advantage of Terra’s central location near the Prudential. From city streets to the local firehouse—complete with a fire truck cameo—the portraits felt relaxed, playful, and unmistakably Boston.

Later during the reception, we snuck out once more for a few quick shots of Allison and Thomas showing off their wedding rings with the Prudential towering behind them—a perfect urban contrast to the lush space at Terra.

A Lively Lunch Reception at Eataly

The celebration continued with a lunch reception back at Terra, where Allison and Thomas made a grand entrance, followed by their first dance, toasts, and speeches. Sunlight streamed through the skylights, illuminating hanging plants and greenery that made the entire space feel vibrant and welcoming.

With no need for additional décor, the warm, organic culinary elements became part of the experience—a big advantage of choosing Boston small wedding venues like Terra.

One of the standout features of restaurant wedding venues in Boston is the food—and Terra truly delivered. The menu highlighted seasonal Italian dishes cooked over open flame, including grilled housemade sourdough bread, tagliatelle made from scratch, skewered shrimp, vegetables charred to perfection, and tagliata with hints of rosemary.

For dessert, guests enjoyed a gelato bar—an Eataly classic and the perfect ending to an intimate daytime celebration.
